Want to know the results of Telephone Adalats.....
We see so many departments organising "Adalats" to redress public grievances. But here is a case where a consumer attended a adalat, gave his complaint, was promised that the complaint will be looked into....and then the department claimed that the adalat was never held on that date and no complaint was ever received from the complainant.
Complainant used RTI to get information about his complaint.
Matter went upto CIC for Second Appeal.
CIC asked Chairman, BSNL, to look into the whole concept of Adalats and also asked BSNL to pay a compensation of Rs 5000.00 to the applicant.
