PALAKKAD: A satyagraha was held in front of the Martyr's Column at the Fort Maidan on Republic day by the activists of the Peoples Initiative for the Right to Information, Kerala demanding more transparency in the functioning of the Commission for the Right to Information (RTI) and for making it more democratic.
The satyagraha was organised jointly by the Jana Jagratha samithi, Munottu and Solidarity. Jana Jagratha Samithi president P.S.Panicker inaugurated the satyagraha.
Prasad Thriprayar, the representative of the Madya Nirodhana samithi, presided over the meet.

So much on RTI is happening at Palghat; but our National Dailies maintain a calculated silence. Kindly recollect the incidence where the SIC has ordered the RDO, Palght, not to accept application submitted under Section 5(2). One Maj Ravindran (Retd) is the king-pin.
