    Re: Obligation of Public Authorities

    Dear Concerned/ Interested,

I tried to see the Obligatory RTI provisions in some of the Nationalised Banks.

1.Many do not have any RTI set-up/ cell/ unit to attend to the obligations.

2.Most do not have any PIOs identified ( naturally no FAA etc.). Consequently it is difficult to lodge the complaint/ pose the questions precisely

3.Some Banks have made a web-page for RTI Act provsiions and made public all information which is nothing but their history, other published information, annual report etc.

May be a closer scrutiny will bring out more details.

    Re: Obligation of Public Authorities

India's National Standards Body, Bureau of Indian Standards, headed by an IAS officer, has not provided complete information as required by Section 4 of RTI Act on its website. Whatever information has been provided is not updated. It has not sent the information to CIC after 31 March 2006. CIC should take stringent action against Heads of such Public Authorities.

    Re: Obligation of Public Authorities

There are many Public authorities , which are not up dateing their web sites. This is due to no survilence and no proper mechanism to do so.
This gets solved ---If ,The CIC/SICs check the status of up dateing of web site and suo motto disclousers etc, when ever a PIO/AA attended a case , at the commission.
