    Puneet,

Sorry, I cannot understand how does it matter to the PIO if the information you asked for is about a student or a employee. You have already provided the name of the person about whom you are asking all those details.

Many times, an applicant will not know whether someone is a employee, a student, a officer, his designation, etc...that is why we are asking for information.

In any case the further bits of information you have asked for in the later part of your application make it sound as if the person is a student.

Can I take it to AA of KU ??

The PIO has not denied the info. He only wants a clarification from you. It may be silly. But there is no harm in providing it and see if he gives that info. If he still fails you approach the AA.

    Puneet Bansal,
Are you raising all these RTI petitions in public interest and to know about the transparency of administration or to build up evidence for some other ongoing case?
Defeat is not final when you fall down. It is final when you refuse to get up.

ganpatji, you have hit the nail on the head. there seems to be no 'public interest' in the queries and as such, the petition is vulnerable to rejection.

What do we mean by Information in Public interest ??

    Please refer to

    http://cic.gov.in/CIC-Orders/Decision_10012008_04.pdf

According to this decision, What I understood for definition of information in public interest is information which can help or protect a person or group of persons from being impacted...

Please correct me incase I misunderstood...

Moreover, PIO returned my Orignal application along with Orignal IPOs, thru which fees for RTI application was paid with above reply.

Had Originial Application and fees was not returned, I should reply back to PIO ?
Please suggest what should be next action for me at this stage
