If a citizen or a RTI applicant does not have access to information which the Public Authority has already put out in the public domain, the PIO is bound to give that information under RTI.


The CPIO may be justified to inform that the information that are already in
public domain need not be obtained under the provisions of the RTI Act. In case,
however, the information seeker has no access to information for various
reasons, the CPIO should make photocopies of the relevant documents and
furnish to the requester, after collecting the costs of providing information as per
the prescribed rules.
