    dr.a,

Please share with us even ONE concrete occasion where you have been able to submit a RTI application by email, pay the application fee within the next 10 days AND get a reply to the application.

As sidmis said, which Public Authority was that ?

Just go through the different threads on this forum and you will realise that citizens find it difficult to even submit applications by hand, leave alone email !

    Re: RTI application via email

Unless mentality of officers changes it is difficult to get read of secrecy act.Still Officer think that they can hide facts. Hundreds of crime happens, how many FIRs are accepted Similarly Millions of apply for Informations how many are replied and how many appeals are filed. I was going through the CIC judgements most of the appeals go against the seeker of information. Inspite of my dogged persuation Ckradharpur division did not reply and even the appeal was not acknowledged by South Eastern Railway.
I am finding very difficult still trying since one and half year to punish the PIO for callousness as an example only, so that no PIO of will be callous to RTI application in future.

    Re: RTI application via email

There are four threads concurrently running on the same subject -application through email- today.Suggest merge all these into one to avoid repetitive comments. Thanks.

  6. Re: RTI application via email

Sorry, merger ruled out. We already have half a dozen threads on the topic of online filing of applications. The three threads which have become active today fall under different categories like: New &Discussions, Ask for RTI Query, General Discussions. If they are merged, then the individual posts will appear in their chronological order and will create one big confusion.
Defeat is not final when you fall down. It is final when you refuse to get up.

    Dear All,
If we send 'RTI' application through 'e mail' we can configure our e mail client to get 'read receipts' as followse mail client used Mozilla Thunderbird)

Tools>Account settings> Return receipts> Now check the box beside 'When sending messages always request return receips

Also click the radio button beside 'When a receipt arrives, leave it in my in box'/
Now, when the sent mail is displayed in the receipent's computer, we get one 'read receipt' in our inbox.
    Best wishes.
