  1. Issues came during RTI Seminar: Cheque in whose favor!

I happened to attend one seminar on RTI wherein people asked about few questions. One issue was raised by Shri. Prabhat Kumar, Retd. IAS and Ex-cabinet Secretary that ,there is no mention of to whom the cheque has to be made in favor of while filling RTI application?

I checked up the Regulation and fee cost rule and it has clearly mentioned that the cheque should be made in favor of Account Officer of public authority.

I was just wondering if this is not known or confusion with others too!
    Here is the circular also.

  2. As per the rules as indicated by Kushal, many public authority has also specified person who can recieve cash from the public and give a recipet of the cash along with the acknowledgement of the request.
The advisable method is what suggested by Kushal to go with a cheuqe in favour of the public authority Accounts Officer.
