Congress president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi takes a lot of credit from the Right to Information Act that empowered common man to seek information about government departments and other institutions. But does she know that her own institutions like Jawaharlal Nehru Foundation and Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust are blocking free flow of information?
The other day, a scribe went to Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust to seek information about the trust and its activities. A policeman manning the gate said that entry was restricted. The cop said it was trust secretary Dheeraj Shrivastava’s order. The scribe gave his visiting card to the cop and the cop went inside the building with it. The policeman came back saying that his boss wouldn’t meet journalists.
