PUNE: Police have detained four persons for interrogation in connection with the murder of social activist Satish Shetty at Talegaon village near here.
Shetty, who unearthed many land scams using Right to Information (RTI) in Pune district, was fatally attacked on Wednesday by two unidentified assailants when he was out for a morning stroll at Talegaon where he lived.
He succumbed to death before admission to hospital. Residents of Talegaon observed a Bandh in protest against the killing of the 38-year-old-activist who was closely associated with anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare.
No formal arrest has so far been made in the case, police sources said.
