The reason for the suspension of the electronics teacher, Dushyant Kumar, has not been clarified in the suspension letter.
Kumar and the university administration have been locking horns for the last three years as he had made several representations to the vice chancellor and even to the Governor against "prejudicial actions of the college and university administration", university sources said.
He had also sought some information from the college under the RTI Act which was perhaps resented by the administration, the sources added.
This episode has created ripples among the teachers of the university and the academicians of the state and the rumours of many kinds are afloat about the tussle between the Vice chancellor Dr RP Hooda and Dr LC Gupta who were once close associates in the university but had antagonised their relations lately.

Re: Senior teacher suspended for using RTI act
CIC takes a very very serious view of victimization of RTI applicants.
This person should complain to the SIC or CIC.
At least the CIC takes strong views on this...even launching enquiry.

Appellant in his letter also mentioned that he would like to place on record the
fact that he was a frequent air traveller and was apprehensive that because of
his action under the RTI Act, his movements would be hindered or obstructed at
Airports in the country. The Commission would like to place this on record and
advise the authorities concerned that no citizen of the country should harbour
any such apprehension. There have been cases of victimization of persons who
had resorted to the RTI. The Commission asks the authorities concerned to
ensure that no such action is taken whereby the applicant of the RTI is made to
feel that he is either harmed or affected in any way because of his action
pertaining to the RTI application.
