Chandigarh, June 15: The Right to Information Act will be included in the B Ed curriculum from this academic session. An Orientation Programme for Principals of aided and non-aided Colleges in Punjab held at the Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36 proposed the inclusion of the RTI in the curriculam. Dr Kanwarjit Singh, Director Public Instructions (Punjab) said that the RTI act will bring about transparency in issues relating to admission,attendance etc. in educational institutes.

Rajan Kashyap, the Punjab Chief Information Commissioner was the chief guest. He contended that the objective of the RTI act is to empower the common man. He added that the act will ensure that the officials are answerable to the common man.

An interactive session was organised on the new grading system adopted by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).The Cumulative Grade point Average (CGPA) concept was discussed.
DSC Principal, Dr Satinder Dhillon said that the seminar will generate awareness about the benefits from the act.

K.K. Khandelwal, Haryana Labour Commissioner also talked about the RTI act.
